Welcome

Welcome to "Learning in the Past." This blog contains historical information studied at the 8th grade level in Alabama. The title, "Learning in the Past," suggests that we not only hope to learn about the past, but we also hope to learn from the past (plus, some other blog names were already taken). Again, welcome and thanks for joining us on our journey.

Social Interaction Workshops

Social Interaction Workshops are a time for students to learn acceptable ways of socially interacting in a professional setting.  The classroom serving as that setting, students may participate in such activities as having a snack or soft drink, while still working in cooperative learning groups to accomplish a specified learning objective.  Furthermore, students may need to move freely about the room, sharing edible or drinkable items brought from home, while disseminating ideas pertaining to the academic, social, political, and current events relevant to their "world."  While Social Interaction Workshops may at times resemble a party, the educational benefit is such that it should never be confused with one.
